About Stony Hill Corn Maze & Fun Park

Mazes and more! Stony Hill Corn Maze & Fun Park is the fall side of Stony Hill Farms, the Davis family farm on North Road in Chester, with lots of activities for kids, families, school groups, and other groups. The centerpiece is a giant 10-acre Maize Quest corn maze with a new theme every year, and around it are a 1-acre mini corn maze, a rope maze, a life-size barnyard board game, trike racing, gemstone mining, the Noah's Ark playground, weekend hayrides, and pick-your-own pumpkins and apples.

The big maze is laced with bridges, some crossing over two or three paths, and activity stations that teach you about the year's theme as you go. Your corn maze adventure begins with a brief video explaining how to navigate the maze and how to play the games. If you think you're hopelessly lost, rest at a bench or a bridge and one of the Maze Masters will come to your rescue, or call the number you are given before you go in. Don't cut through the corn: wandering off the path means automatic removal from the maze. For 2026 the theme is NJ 250, for New Jersey's 250th birthday alongside the country's, with facts about the state along the way. Past themes have included Manhattan, Pirates, Ancient Egypt, Dinosaurs, the Outback, the Rainforest, the Age of Edison, Sea Turtle Rescue, Rutgers 250, the Big Top and, in 2025, Dairy Farmer, about the property's start as a dairy farm.

Stony Hill began in 1988 as Stony Hill Gardens, growing cut orchids, and the family now farms about 500 acres, with 20 acres of orchards. Stony Hill Farm Market, on the Fun Park property, sells ice cream, donuts and Jersey Fresh produce, and the farm's winery, Rebel Sheep Wine Co., has a tasting room at the same address. Stony Hill Gardens, the greenhouse and garden center, is a separate stop on Route 24.

Giant Corn Maze

At Stony Hill, fall means it's time for a new Maize Quest corn maze to begin! The 10-acre maze has a new theme every year, bridges over its winding paths, and games to play as you find your way out. A trip through can take anywhere from one to three hours.

Mini Corn Maze

Not ready to take the challenge of the 10-acre maze? This smaller 1-acre version of the corn maze is great for younger maze explorers or first timers!

Barnyard Board Game

Play the life-size board game! It's like an agricultural-themed Candyland where you are the game piece. Big, bright and colorful, it's fun for all.

Rope Maze

Nautical rope forms a path that leads to the deck of a pirate ship. Kids weave through the rope and ring the giant bell when they master the maze.

Super Mega Slide

Jump on a tube for 150 feet of speed. Riders must be at least 42 inches tall, and the slide runs on select festival weekends.

Gemstone Mining

Have the old-time panning for gold experience at the mining sluice. Empty part of your bag in a screen-bottom box, 'sluice' it in the water flume, and the dirt washes away to reveal your gemstones. It costs extra.

Apple Cannons

Try your aim with the long-range apple cannons, on select fall weekends, for an extra fee.

Trike Rides

Race to the finish line! Put your pedaling skills to the test as you race your family and friends around the trike track!

Hayrides (Weekends Only)

Take a hayride around the farm in the crisp autumn air and enjoy the scenic views, or ride out to the pumpkin patch. This is a crowd favorite and fall tradition for many!

U-Pick Pumpkins and Apples

Pick your own pumpkins and apples! Walk, or take the weekend hayride, out to the fields and dwarf apple orchards to pick the freshest of New Jersey produce.

Noah's Ark Playground

The children's play area is a giant Noah's Ark. This 35 foot long wooden ark features ladders, slides, and a top deck lookout. The area is surrounded by picnic tables where you can sit and watch the kids play.

Special / Seasonal Events

Stony Hill Corn Maze & Fun Park opens every fall, from just after Labor Day into the first days of November, and for 2026 it is open daily from September 5 through November 1. On select Saturday nights in October the big corn maze stays open after dark for Flashlight Nights: bring your own flashlight or buy one at the farm.

Late in September the farm holds an adults-only Glow Maze night for 21 and over: find the four glow stations in the 10-acre maze and trade your glow items for a glass of wine or cider, with live music, axe throwing, apple cannons, a fire pit and s'mores. For 2026 it ran September 25 and 26. The farm also holds a Sunflower Festival.

Tips and Tricks

Give the big maze one to three hours. Bring sunscreen even on cloudy days, wear a hat and sturdy closed-toe shoes, and expect uneven paths that can be muddy after rain. The maze and the fields are not wheelchair accessible because of the rough ground and the stairs on the maze bridges, and strollers are very hard to push, so bring a carrier for little ones. In severe weather the park closes; check the farm's Facebook page or call 908-879-2908 before you go.

Admission & Guidelines

Fun Park tickets are sold for a time slot. Buying online ahead guarantees admission and costs less than at the gate. Children 2 and under are free, and parking is free, with room for buses. The basic farm entry ticket covers unlimited hayrides on weekends, the picnic area, the Mega Slide on the weekends it runs and the Noah's Ark playground; the Maze Master ticket adds the corn mazes, the rope maze and trike racing. Gemstone mining, the apple cannons and Maize-O-Vision glasses for decoding the maze game sheets cost extra. U-pick crops are paid for on top of admission, and pick-your-own entry includes the weekend hayride to the fields.

No outside food is allowed on fall weekends and holidays; the concession stand is open on festival and event days, and the market sells ice cream and donuts. Leashed pets are welcome on the farm but not in the picking areas. Alcohol, smoking, laser pointers, grills and drones are not allowed, and masks may not be worn in the maze. Cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay are accepted.

Hours / Season of Operation

The Maze Fun Park is open every fall, daily from early September to the start of November, 10 AM to 6 PM, and closed on Labor Day. Hayrides run on weekends and select holidays only. The last ticket is sold one hour before closing, no exceptions. On select Saturdays in October the corn maze reopens from 6 PM to 9 PM. After 6 PM everyone under 18 must be with a parent or legal guardian in the maze, and you may be asked for photo ID when buying tickets.

Pick-your-own is open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM in season, with the last ticket sold at 4 PM; pumpkins are usually ready from late September through October. The farm market at the same address is open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM from early June until December 23, and closed on Memorial Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day.

Chester is farm country. Alstede Farms, with its own pick-your-own fields, corn maze and hayrides, is about two miles west, and Patriots' Path, the Morris County trail, passes just south of Stony Hill. Cooper Gristmill and Hacklebarney State Park are short drives southwest, and the gardens at Willowwood Arboretum and Bamboo Brook Outdoor Education Center are a few miles south.
