About Ort Farms
Ort Farms is a six-generation family farm on Bartley Road in Long Valley, and on September and October weekends it runs Fall Festival Weekends. You take a hayride through the farm to the pumpkin patch and pick your own pumpkins, pick apples in the orchard, walk the corn maze, visit the farm animals and let the kids loose on the play areas, with food trucks, live music and treats on site.
The farm animals, kids' play area and picnic area are open daily from April through November, and it costs nothing to visit them. The play area has swing sets and wooden play structures, and you can feed the friendly farm animals. The newly built farm market sells fresh produce, bakery items, grab-and-go meals, homemade ice cream and decor. The farm also grows pick-your-own strawberries, sunflower fields and u-cut flowers earlier in the year, and runs a 21-week CSA farm share.

Mommy and Me Pick and Play runs every Monday at 10 AM, with a hands-on seasonal picking or craft activity and a visit to the farm animals. Story Time runs every Thursday at 10 AM for ages 2 to 5 and lasts about 45 minutes, with a themed story and an activity or craft. Both are sold separately, and they start 10 minutes after the posted time.
Special / Seasonal Events
Fall Festival Weekends run every weekend in September and October. They are packed with apple picking, pumpkin picking, hayrides, farm animals, kids' play areas, food trucks, live music and treats. The farm also runs pick-your-own festivals through the year, among them strawberries, cut flowers, the sunflower trail, apples and pumpkins.
A 2026 season pass covers festival admission, including the corn maze and hayrides when they are offered. Carriage rides, pony rides, train rides, the apple cannon and monster truck rides cost extra and are not covered by a season pass.
Tips and Tricks
Follow the farm's social media for picking conditions, food vendors and weekend activities. In the fall, the farm suggests alternate routes to avoid heavy traffic in the Chester area: its Plan Your Visit page lists them.
Admission & Guidelines
There is no admission fee to visit the farm animals and the kids' play area. Full-farm admission applies on pick-your-own festival weekends, and tickets are sold online through the farm's ticket page. Kids are free until they are three. Anything you pick from the restricted picking areas is $4.99 per pound and you pay for it. A 2026 season pass covers the pick-your-own festivals, including the corn maze and hayrides when they are offered, but not story time, special events, carriage, pony or train rides, the apple cannon, monster truck rides, or any produce.
The farm takes cash and credit cards, and checks in the store only. Photography or videography sessions need permission and prior arrangement.
Dogs on leashes are welcome in the pumpkin patch, sunflower field, tulip field and corn maze. They are not allowed on the hayride to the pumpkin patch, though you can walk down to the patch, and they are not allowed in any fruit or vegetable areas. Only service dogs may go into the farm market.
Hours / Season of Operation
The farm animals, kids' play area and picnic area are open daily from April through November. Fall Festival Weekends run every weekend in September and October.
The farm market is open daily, 9 AM to 7 PM, and the homemade ice cream is open daily, 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM. The pick-your-own fields are open 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The farm asks you to check its social media for picking conditions and updates.
Facilities
Restrooms are portable toilets, and there is a hand wash station. Hand sanitizer stations are set up around the farm areas and by the adult animals. The lawn where the farm animals, picnic area and play structures sit is generally stroller friendly, but the farm roads and fields at pick-your-own events are bumpy, so a jogging stroller or baby carrier works better there. Wagons are allowed. Food vendors often set up at the farm.
Parking
Parking is free. Park in the event parking lot, in the fields to the left of the farm market, for a visit to the animals and play area or a pick-your-own festival, and follow the event parking signs. The spaces in front of the market are for short-term shoppers and have a 10 to 20 minute limit.
