About Duffield's Farm Market
Duffield's Farm Market is a family farm and market in Sewell, in Washington Township, open all year. The Duffield family farms over 350 acres, 175 of them in Farmland Preservation so they will always be a farm, and raises more than 50 kinds of fruits and vegetables, including peaches, strawberries, nectarines, apples, sweet corn and tomatoes. The market also has a bakery and a deli.
Fall is the farm's big season. Pumpkin picking runs through October, apple picking runs for a few days in mid-September, and the hayrides carry visitors out to the pick-your-own fields. Saturdays from September 12 through October 31 are Fall Fun days, with the corn maze, the Barnyard Express, the Barnbounce, pony rides, face painting and live music on most of them. Family Fun Night on October 16 turns the maze, a hayride, a s'mores pit and carnival games into an evening out. Pick-your-own dates all depend on the crop, so the farm asks you to check its calendar, Facebook page or phone before you go.
The farm also runs school field trips, birthday parties and rentals, summer camp and a story time on the farm for young children.

A Brief History
David Duffield's father, Claude, bought the original parcel in 1930 and raised fruits and vegetables that were packed and sold to the market in Philadelphia. David took over after his father died in 1953 and bought more land beside it. When it got harder to support the family, his wife Mary began selling strawberries on the front porch. David then built a small market from four posts and a roof, and through several expansions it grew into the market, bakery and deli of today.
The farm is still family run, with the fifth generation growing up on it. Hayrides, birthday parties and educational field trips were added over the years, in both spring and fall.
