About Coombs Barnyard
Coombs Barnyard is a working farm at 20 Route 77, with an Elmer address, that opens to the public for events. Sisters Amanda and Jennifer Coombs started it in 2008 to share a real farm with the community around them. Amanda runs it today with her three children, the 10th generation on their family farm.
The farm's October draw is the Flashlight Corn Maze, a night maze on Friday and Saturday evenings that takes 30 to 45 minutes to walk. It is designed for all ages, and food and pumpkins are on sale at the event. Carve for a Cause runs alongside the maze for one weekend, and Tots Day at the Farm gives toddlers a morning of animals, a wagon ride and open play. Year round the calendar also includes holiday and season events, farm camp, field trips and birthday parties.
The barnyard is home to Donkey, who thinks he is a lap cat, goats, sheep, pigs, a very loud goose named Lucy and a bunny. The Barn Village is a play area with barrel train rides, and there is a heated barn for story times and parties. Jimmy's and Sprinkles, the farm's snack stand, sells soft serve and hand dipped ice cream. The farm has its own dog and other animals, so visitors' dogs are not allowed.
