About Allaire Community Farm

Allaire Community Farm is a 25-acre working farm and animal sanctuary in Wall Township, run as a nonprofit since 2013 by founders Sean and JoAnn Burney and a large crew of volunteers. Its rescued animals are the heart of the place, and many of them came to the farm showing the effects of neglect. Visitors of all ages can meet them at the petting zoo, open to the public from spring to fall with no reservation needed, and it makes a fun and family-friendly outing.

The petting zoo holds horses, goats, pigs, donkeys, an alpaca, a cow, a turkey, chickens, ducks, rabbits and more. You pet and feed them from outside the pens and paddocks, with feed bags sold in the market, since the animals are on special diets. Tractor-drawn wagon rides of about 10 minutes loop around the farm, and the farm train runs alongside the petting zoo and the animal pens, for riders of all ages. The farm's market is in a 100-year-old barn, and Rami's Heart COVID-19 Memorial, on the farm grounds, is included with admission.

Behind the visitor side is the farm's mission, "Nurture through Nature": educational and healing programs that use animal therapy, equine therapy, organic gardening and vocational training for adults and children with special needs, teens facing mental health struggles, veterans with PTSD and families battling cancer. The farm's gardens and greenhouses supply weekly free produce to local families battling cancer, and all money from visits goes to that mission. Events through the year, birthday parties, school and group trips, horseback riding lessons and summer programs round it out.

Special / Seasonal Events

Old Fashioned Christmas on the Farm

The farm's biggest fundraiser turns all 25 acres into a life-sized Christmas village from the day after Thanksgiving until just before Christmas, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings plus the three nights before Christmas. Pay admission in the 100-year-old barn market, then walk down to the indoor and outdoor petting zoos, photos with Santa in the museum, holiday movies in the pavilion and the Model Train House. The Yuletide Wagon ride, an extra ticket, runs through two tunnels of lights and the Mighty Christmas Village and past the animals in the outside paddocks.

For 2026 it runs November 27 to December 23, 4 to 8 p.m., with Santa from 5 to 7 p.m. every night. Admission for 2026 is $12 for adults and $6 for ages 18 and under (under 1 free), paid at the door only, with no advance tickets; feed bags and Yuletide Wagon rides are $3 each, and Santa photos are by donation. The farm does not recommend it for people with mobility issues, because of the low light and the farm's hills, and it closes for the night in bad weather.

Tips and Tricks

Picnicking is not allowed. Snacks are fine, but leave coolers and bagged lunches at home; it is a carry in, carry out farm. Alcohol is not permitted, and the whole farm, the parking lot included, is smoke and vape free. Pony rides are offered only at special events and as a birthday party option.

Admission & Guidelines

For 2026, admission is $6 for adults 16 and over and $4 for children over 1, by cash or card, and no reservation is needed. Wagon rides and farm train rides are $3 per person each, and feed bags are sold in the market. Small children need an adult with them on the wagon ride, since there are no seat belts. Visitors may not go into the pens or hold the smaller animals, and outside food for the animals is not allowed. Pets are not permitted: service animals must wear a vest, and emotional support animals and therapy dogs are not allowed.

Hours / Season of Operation

The farm is open to day visitors from April through November, Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. It is closed on Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Day visits end in late November, when the farm gets ready for its Christmas event, and start again on April 1; for 2026 the last day for day visits is November 24.

The farm train runs on weekdays and weekends. The farm's own pages differ on whether the wagon rides run on weekdays, so plan on a weekend if the wagon ride is the point of the trip.

Parking

The farm has a gravel parking lot with handicap spaces. When it fills, extra parking is across the street in the municipal building lots, with a crosswalk over to the farm.
