About The Conover Killings
The Conover Killings is an outdoor haunted trail in Wall Township, open on fall weekend nights from late September through October. It is a story haunt. In its legend, Jonathan turned a Halloween game of manhunt with his friends into what the town called The Mill Massacre, then vanished into the woods around the Conover Christmas Tree Farm. You follow winding wooded paths in total darkness while Jonathan and his victims step out without warning, and every sound, shadow and silence is set up to keep your pulse racing. The trail takes about 26 to 28 minutes, depending on your group's pace.
The operator is plain about what to expect: darkness, live actors, loud effects, confined paths and sustained psychological tension, in a haunt it says is designed to maximize fright. Guests under 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and everyone signs a waiver confirming they are not pregnant and have no heart, seizure, respiratory or other medical conditions.
Only 5 or 6 groups go in every 15 minutes, so you never catch up to the group ahead, and you wait for your turn by the fire. A portion of every ticket goes to the Autism Movement Project, and the haunt says NewJerseyHauntedHouses.com named it a top-rated winner for Halloween 2025.

Tips and Tricks
Arrive during your time slot, not before. After you pay you get a number, and some groups wait up to 45 minutes after check-in, longer on Halloween weekend. The haunt is entirely outdoors on uneven ground, so dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Watch for the entrance: it is a long, dark gravel driveway.
Admission & Guidelines
During the 2026 season the haunt's FAQ listed admission at $30 per person, cash only, with sales tax included. Book your night by calling or texting 757-817-2517. Walk-ins depend on the night, and when it is fully booked you can ask to go on a waitlist. Everyone must sign the waiver before entering, and guests under 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No refunds.
Hours / Season of Operation
Open weekend nights from late September through the end of October. For 2026 the dates are September 25 and 26 and October 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 29 and 30, from 7 to 10 PM, and reservations begin at sundown. The 2026 schedule does not include Halloween night itself.
The haunt stays open in bad weather unless conditions are dangerously severe.
