A Brief History

A family business since 1993, Longmeadow Farm originally began by selling pumpkins for Halloween. But it wasn't long before Bradley Burke, Longmeadow's owner, felt that something more was in order. And with that decision, the apple orchard was planted.

Special / Seasonal Events

Apple picking season at Longmeadow features new varieties almost every weekend. The season runs from the first weekend in September through the last weekend in October, though sometimes the season can be longer depending on the weather! The farm is open on those Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM to 5 PM. To find what types of apples are ripe and when, see the apple varieties page on the farm's website.

At Longmeadow, apples are the main attraction. But there is so much more! Pick your own pumpkins for Halloween from the first weekend in October, and visit the berry patch for raspberries and blackberries. Not to mention the farm's jams, jellies, and honey. Some weekends in pumpkin season there are hayrides for the kids, or those just young at heart, out to the pumpkin patch.

Every fall the farm holds a Harvest Festival with food trucks, live music, artisan vendors and arts and crafts, hayrides, apple and pumpkin picking, face painting and henna. For 2026 it is on Saturday, October 3, from 11 AM to 4 PM.

Hours / Season of Operation

Longmeadow is open on weekends only, Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM to 5 PM, from the first weekend in September through the last weekend in October; the season can run longer depending on the weather. Pumpkin picking runs from the first weekend in October through the last weekend before Halloween. School groups visit by appointment; call 908-459-5351.

Directions

Longmeadow Farm is just off Route 80 in the Skylands of northwest New Jersey. From Route 80 in either direction, take exit 12 for Hope and Blairstown and head north on County Route 521 for about 1 mile. The farm is on the left-hand side.

Longmeadow sits about a mile off Route 80 between Hope and Blairstown. Land of Make Believe in Hope is a few miles away, and Jenny Jump State Forest, with the UACNJ Observatory at Jenny Jump, is a short drive south. In Blairstown, Footbridge Park is about three miles north, and Treasure Grove Ranch is close by too.
