About Von Thun Farms (Washington)
Von Thun Farms in Washington is the Warren County farm of the Von Thun family, who have farmed in New Jersey since Henry Von Thun bought his first 90 acres in 1913. The farm sits in a valley in Washington Township with long views all around, and it is open spring, summer and fall. It is a separate farm from the family's original one in South Brunswick, Von Thun's Country Farm Market, though the two share a website and a season pass.
Fall is the big season. Every Saturday and Sunday from mid-September into early November is a Fall Festival Weekend, with a corn maze of more than 5 acres, unlimited hayrides to the pumpkin patch, apple and pumpkin picking and more than 20 games and attractions included in one admission: pedal karts, a John Deere trike course, barnyard bouncers, a straw maze, barnyard mini golf, pumpkin bowling, giant pumpkin checkers, rubber duck races, corn hole, a bubble barn, a bee barn, farm animals and a chicken show among them. Corn cannons, apple blasters and paintball cost extra. The farm grows five varieties of apples that ripen in September and October, and it has two pumpkin patches, one to pick in and a pre-picked section by the farm market.
The 2026 corn maze theme is Dogs and Dinos. Most people take 35 to 45 minutes to get from entrance to exit, with passports, Cornundrums, Simon Says and a Farm Scene Investigation into who kidnapped Farmer Joe along the way, and a Spookley the Square Pumpkin storybook with an anti-bullying message posted in the first part of the maze.
Earlier in the year you can pick strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and peaches, and walk the farm's New Jersey Sunflower Trail in summer. Maisie and Hope, the farm's Highland cows, are there to pet, cuddle and feed treats. The farm market, opened in 2017 in a renovated pole barn, sells the farm's own sweet corn and Jersey tomatoes and dozens of other fruits and vegetables, homegrown grass-fed Angus beef year round, local honey, farm fresh eggs, apple cider, homemade apple cider donuts and fresh baked pies.
