Fisherman's Cove Conservation Area

391 Third Avenue, Manasquan, New Jersey 08736

Update: 2015 -- The Board of Recreation Commissioners has approved a plan in 2015 to accommodate all visitor interests. A portion of the beach is designated as dog free. Dog owners can enjoy the front (east) portion of the beach while the back (west) portion of the beach is preserved for other beach activities. This delineation of beach activities is in effect year round, all daylight hours. Signs are posted so that visitors will know which portion of the beach is designated for dog access. The leash rule remains in effect and will be enforced by the Park Rangers to ensure the safety and well being of all visitors.

About Fisherman's Cove Conservation Area

Fisherman's Cove is a 55-acre beach and partially wooded area is part of the Monmouth County Park System. It supports a variety of diverse habitats as well as an abundance of plant and animal species. Many migrating and resident birds have taken sanctuary within these 55acres. Recreational boaters, fishermen and others seeking passive recreation also enjoy this unique area.

Many people use this beach as a dog park, allowing them to run off leash. It looks like the rules of the park say otherwise. "Dogs must be on leash at all times while at this park." Many people feel that this is not an important rule, and act accordingly.
