Read moreWe have only visited Hacklebarney State Park one time since finding it a few years ago, and we can not wait to get back. The primary trails are well kept, somewhat challenging, but are not so hard that you will be hurting. The streams, water falls, and the Black River are amazing for fishing, sightseeing, and just enjoying the sounds of rushing water. You will also find a few playgrounds for the little ones to work off the rest of their energy. It is just a great park!
Read moreSourland Mountain Preserve is a great place for a lot of activities. Personally, we hike here once a year, usually in the fall. The trails are challenging for sure. Steep-ish hills, lots of rocks to step around, and simply great views. The mountain biking here is great. Many groups do group rides here to help show people around. Keep an eye out on the JORBA site for these rides.
Read moreIn 2012, one of our favorite campgrounds in NJ was purchased by a new owner. Green Valley Beach, was bought and renamed to The Great Divide Campground. At first we were a little apprehensive of this change. But as we discussed some improvements/changes directly with the new management, we knew they were going to be a great change.
Read moreCheesequake State Park has great hiking, camping, biking (1 trail), swimming areas, fishing area, nature programs and more. The trails are well maintained and well marked. The campground has large sites, and clean bathrooms. Their picnic areas are large with ample room for everyone. That is why we are happy to feature Cheesequake State Park.
Read moreThe Cape May County Park and Zoo is a great destination for the whole family.This large park offers playing fields, guided activities, a Frisbee golf area, playgrounds and much more. The zoo has tigers, bears, giraffes, birds, special exhibits and much more!
