About Stow Creek State Park
Stow Creek State Park is 1,091 acres of woods and farm fields along Stow Creek, a tidal creek that winds about five miles to Delaware Bay. The spot most visitors use is the boat ramp and floating dock at the end of Stow Creek Landing Road, which gives anglers and boaters a way onto the creek. A bald eagle viewing platform overlooks an active nest.
The marsh around the landing is tall cordgrass and phragmites, with thick brush along the forest edge. Winter brings bald eagles perched along the water, plus northern harriers and red-tailed hawks. In fall, Canada and snow geese arrive in large numbers, raptors pass through, and kestrels are common. Early morning is the best time to see wildlife.
There is no boat launch fee. The park is administered by Parvin State Park, so questions go to the Parvin office.

Things to See & Do
Launch a boat or kayak at the ramp and fish or paddle Stow Creek. Walk out and back from the end of the landing road to the water's edge for birds, and bring binoculars for eagles, harriers, herons, ospreys and marsh wrens. Muskrats, deer and red fox also live here.
Best Time of Year to Visit
Winter for eagles and raptors, fall for geese and migrating hawks, and spring for the frog and bird chorus in the marsh. Summer is buggy, so go early in the morning.
Tips and Tricks
Few services are nearby once you leave Bridgeton, so bring water and food. Wear long sleeves and insect repellent in summer, when biting flies and mosquitoes are bad. Watch for ticks from spring until the first frost. Cold wind comes off the bay in winter.
