The 18 hole course features hazards, mandatory shots, both long and short shots, as well as holes through open fields and through the woods. This all comes together in a challenging course. A Brief History
The Ocean County Park Disc Golf Course was added to Ocean County Park in 2013 as a 9 hole course. In 2014, an additional 9 holes were added, making this a full 18 holes (with alternate tees at each hole). The park itself has a lot of history. The grounds were once owned by John D. Rockefeller's as his vacation estate. They made many changes to the land, including bringing in thousand of trees, creating lakes, and building his own personal short golf course. Perfect place for a disc golf course if you ask us :)
Directions
The entrance to Ocean County Park can be found off Rt 88 in Lakewood, NJ. The Disc Golf Course itself can be found throughout the open fields of the park. Though there are many parking areas within the park, you will want to use the large one near the parking area. Just enter off 88, and follow the park road until you find the picnic parking.
