About Halloween House Freehold
Halloween House Freehold is an indoor Halloween walk-through made up of fully decorated themed rooms, each one a different side of Halloween. It calls itself not a haunted house: the goal is a great Halloween experience, not a scare. There are no actors, no jump scares and no gore, and no one touches you or jumps into your space. The operator describes it as spooky, not scary, with creepy spiderwebs, ghouls and graveyards but nothing meant to upset anyone, and as an attraction for all ages, not just toddlers.
Rooms include the Spiderweb Light Tunnel, the ToFright Show, a Trick or Treat room, a Glow in the Dark room, a room inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas, the Beetlejuice Illusion Room, a Graveyard Movie Theater, a Zombie Bunker, a Haunted Hotel Room, Halloweentown and a Vampire's Lair. Groups go through with a tour guide and are never rushed; most take 40 to 45 minutes, and some stay an hour or more.
It started at Freehold Raceway Mall, which is where the name comes from, and for 2026 it has moved to a larger space inside Adventure Crossing USA on Monmouth Road in Jackson. The whole attraction and its waiting area are indoors and climate controlled.

Tips and Tricks
This is the pick for Halloween lovers who hate being scared, and for families with kids of different ages. There are no strobe lights, though the Spiderweb Light Tunnel has bright effects; tell the staff about any health issues or sensitivities and they will adjust the experience. Because it is fully indoors, rain does not matter. Parties and private events can be booked by email at [email protected].
Admission & Guidelines
Tickets are sold for a set date and time and are only valid then, with a 10-minute grace period for late arrivals; after that, entry depends on space. Buy as far ahead as you can, since popular times sell out. For 2026, tickets start at $24.90, and the operator says it keeps prices under the $40 or more that most haunted houses charge. If a ticket is out of reach, the operator asks you to email [email protected] for help. There are no refunds.
Hours / Season of Operation
Halloween House Freehold opens for the Halloween season only, with timed-entry tickets. For 2026 its ticket calendar runs from Friday, October 9 through Sunday, November 1. Dates and times are chosen when you buy, on the attraction's website.
