About Wightman Farms
Wightman Farms is a Morris County farm that the Wightman family has run since 1922, and in the fall its Fall Festival is the draw. One ticket covers unlimited scenic hayrides, a pumpkin from the hayride pumpkin field, entry to Mazeland, and entry to the apple orchard, plus a souvenir tote bag. Mazeland is a giant corn maze together with a hay bale maze, a rope maze, a paver maze, a rock labyrinth, a hay bale pyramid and a hay bale tunnel. There is a picnic area with stand-in photo boards, corn hole and hula hoops, and parking is free.
The orchard grows more than 30 apple varieties that ripen at different times, so the picking changes week to week. Pick-your-own apples are now part of the Fall Festival ticket, and the apples themselves are weighed and paid for by the pound.
The farm market is open every day. It sells farm-grown vegetables and fruit, prime meats, chicken and fish, fresh donuts, pies and cookies, hot coffee and tea, and prepared meals such as meatloaf, lasagna, slow-cooked baby back ribs, quiche, soups and chicken pot pie ready to bake.

A Brief History
In 1922 Albert Wightman and his wife, Laetitia, bought the land that became Wightman Farms. Albert planted fruit trees and vegetables and drove through Morristown selling his harvests, and gradually customers began coming to the farm. Longtime customers remember produce sold from a table under a mulberry tree across from the current market and cider mill. Today the third generation of the Wightman family, with close friends, continues the tradition through the market. The farm has run a CSA program for more than ten years.
Programs / Education
Wightman Farms takes school and group trips by reservation. Private group hayrides are for grammar schools, after-school programs and people with disabilities only. For $10 per person, with a minimum of 15 people or $150, a group gets a 20 minute scenic hayride loop around the farm, a farm-made donut and fresh-pressed Wightman Farms apple cider, time in the hay bale maze, tunnel and pyramid, the picnic area, and a small pumpkin to take home. Apple picking and the giant corn maze are not part of a school trip. The whole visit takes about an hour and a half, and the farm is handicapped accessible for school groups; ask at booking.
Special / Seasonal Events
The Fall Festival is the farm's fall event: unlimited hayrides, Mazeland, a pumpkin from the hayride field and apple picking on one ticket. The Pumpkin Slingshot is open on Saturdays and Sundays only. All the festival activities are closed Monday through Thursday, and the farm market stays open.
Tips and Tricks
Wear sturdy shoes with tread. Friday hours are shorter, noon to 5:30 PM, and the last ticket is sold at 4:30 PM, so Saturday or Sunday gives you the most time. Check the farm's Pick Your Own page each week to see which apple varieties are ready.
Admission & Guidelines
The Fall Festival ticket is sold at the ticket booth in the front parking lot. As posted in October 2026 it is $30 per person, and children under 3 are free. Apples are not included in the ticket: all apples picked or picked up are weighed and paid for, listed at $3.79 per pound. The farm adds a 3 percent credit card fee, all sales are final, and tickets are not refundable for any reason.
You are entering a working farm, and the farm asks for hiking or work boots, not sandals, heels or shoes without treads. No outside food or drinks, no pets, no drones and no smoking. Only service animals recognized by the ADA are allowed. The farm inspects bags, backpacks, strollers and wagons at the gate.
Hours / Season of Operation
The Fall Festival runs on Fridays from noon to 5:30 PM and on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM to 5:30 PM. The last ticket is sold at 4:30 PM, the entry gates close at 5 PM, and everyone must be out by 5:30 PM. The farm's own advice is to give yourself at least an hour inside before the gates are locked. Festival activities are closed Monday through Thursday. The farm's pages give no start or end dates for the festival.
The farm market is open seven days a week, 8 AM to 6 PM in the fall, and the store stays open until 6 PM on festival days. The farm posts separate holiday and winter hours.
