About Fear in the Forest
Fear in the Forest is a family-operated haunted attraction on a working blueberry farm in Pemberton Township. It is open only two nights each October, and the family and its scare crew build it every year for the love of the season.
The visit starts on the drive in. From Route 70 a long dirt road winds through cranberry bogs and heavily wooded forest, and the operator says you never know what or who might jump out along the way. The haunted trail itself runs more than half a mile through the woods, with multiple themed areas.
It is meant to scare. The operator's FAQ answers the question directly: "it's scary!" Fog machines, lighting, strobes and loud sound effects are all used. It is outdoors, on trails with tight spots and sharp corners, and it is not stroller or wheelchair accessible. Groups of 10 go in about every 5 minutes, and the operator says the wait can be long because the event draws a very large crowd. Afterward there is food and live music on site.

Tips and Tricks
Bring cash. Wear shoes you do not mind getting dirty and clothing that can handle fog, special effects and the weather, since the whole event is outdoors. Leave your cell phone in your vehicle, because the trail will not stop to look for one, and agree on a meeting spot with your group, since there is limited cell phone reception. Backpacks, coolers, flashlights, glass bottles, weapons, costumes and masks are not allowed. Stay with your group and do not touch the props or the actors.
The operator recommends adult supervision for anyone under 16, requires an adult to be on the property for everyone under 18, and says a parent or guardian over 21 must stay on site even if they are not walking the trail. It does not recommend the trail if you are pregnant or have a heart condition or are in bad health.
Hours / Season of Operation
Fear in the Forest is open two nights each October. For 2026 those nights are Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24. The ticket booth gate and the line close at 10 PM, and everyone in line by then goes through the trail even if it runs later. The operator keeps going in rain and shuts down only for thunder, lightning or severe weather until it is safe to reopen. The opening time is not published on the site.
Facilities
There are portable toilets on site, and food is available, with live music on at least one night. The cabin on the property is closed to the public. This is an entirely outdoor event.
Directions
Fear in the Forest is off Route 70 at Mile Marker 32.5. The operator's physical address is 182 City Line Road, Pemberton, and its GPS address is 1 Pasadena Road, Browns Mills, from where you follow the event signs down the dirt road to the attraction.
